[ She thought you'd never ask. Her stubby ponytail whips around as she faces her, a mixture of gratitude and excitement in her eyes. Perhaps the idea of going in alone wasn't as fun, but if she could somehow rope someone like Diana into going along with her, it's bound to be fun!!! She hasn't had a chance to really hang out with Diana much anyway. So... ]
Mmhmhmhm! Let's go!
[ To which she doesn't wait for a response and grabs Diana's wrist, attempting to drag her towards the looming entrance of cobwebs and fake mist. ]
[Okay, hi, that sure is Akko invading her personal space suddenly. Diana isn't entirely prepared for that; Akko, as always, catches her off guard.] Ah-- yes, we can-- [Okay, yeah, no looking at the brochure first or anything like that, they're just off, Diana getting dragged behind Akko in a very undignified fashion.] --Akko!
[At last, once they're inside, Diana manages to wrest her wrist out of Akko's grasp.] Goodness... you're so impulsive.
[Just casually straightening out her outfit, then. She notes the fog in the air.] They don't use magic at these carnivals, do they? It's all just trickery, machines and sleight of hand. [Because she's actually a little interested.]
[ No brochures, no way! Carnival attractions are meant to experienced in the moment, and since she's pretty darn sure that neither of them have any issues with scary situations, who cares? Right?? She just laughs, grinning as Diana wrestles out of her grip and takes in the atmosphere. ]
Maybe, but come on, let's go in further! You don't wanna ruin the fun by trying to figure everything out, do you?!
[ Stereotypical eerie music plays out of the hidden speakers, and there's a certain charm to it that Akko loves. She touches the faux brick walls and laughs at how fake it is, then suddenly she's examining a coffin that's been propped up against a wall haphazardly. ]
[The idea that Akko would so quickly dismiss figuring things out is... very Akko. Diana moves to inspect the fake cobwebs on the walls.] Well... actually, I think it'd be enlightening to see how they do these things without magic, yes.
I think this spider web is just cotton, though, looking closely.
[She leans a little too far close. Suddenly, there's a rubber spider on a string falling right in her face.
Maybe she's a little startled. She gasps in surprise, but manages to control herself otherwise.] --ah.
[ Akko isn't paying too much attention Diana's musings, still trying to pry the coffin open with her bare hands. It seems fake, the material kind of flimsy and plastic-y to the touch, but the thing is still shut tight. Obviously it has to open, because she senses a little crack between the two slabs. ]
Hnnnrgghh! I want— to see— inside!
[ She's this close to using her wand, if the magic would even reach all the way over here. Right as Diana is distracted by the dangling spider in her face, Akko is rubbing her chin thoughtfully before the slab suddenly slides open and an animated skeleton jumps out at her. ]
Gyyaauuugh!
[ And goes reeling backwards, colliding directly into Diana.
[The gasp this next time is significantly less restrained, more because she's knocked forward... and flat to the floor. She'd been already off balance, after all, and Akko crashing into her is just enough to put her down on the ground.] --Akko!
[She says, sounding cross, but it's difficult to be intimidating when you're face down on the ground.] What on Earth do you think you're doing?!
you are sitting on her butt.] Please... get off me. [She is trying to sound very polite.
She is failing. However, when Akko does move, that earns her a grudging:] ...thank you.
[She's able to stand up herself, dusting her front off. This house is pretty dusty, really.] Honestly, what were you expecting? Of course they'd have something inside the coffin. Why else would it be there?
[ Akko suddenly turns to face her, just enough to stare at her from the corner of her eye. She grins, sidling up to her and poking her with her elbow repeatedly. ]
I saaaaw you earlier, don't think I didn't! You got surprised by some spiders! I'm not the only one who didn't expect a thing to surprise me.
[ did that make any sense? she thinks it did. her smugness is totally justified! ]
That's why it's a surprise. [Diana straightens herself out, dusting herself off with a little sigh.] I was startled, that's all. They've set things to jump out at us. Who wouldn't be?
[ The suggestion has her perking up suddenly, like she'd completely forgotten there's more to this haunted house. She peers down the hallway to their right, hokey music filtering in through blown-out speakers partially hidden in fake cobwebs.
She grabs Diana by her sleeve and tugs at it. ]
This way!
[ It's cute that Diana tries to brush off her reactions like it's no big deal. Com'n girl, loosen up a little! At least that is Akko's intentions with dragging her along into a place like this. Ahead, there's plenty of hallways and pockets of rooms filled with random horror paraphernalia. One room has a dining room filled with projections of ghosts, another has a piano that plays a haunting melody on its own. ]
[This time she's moderately more prepared for Akko to grab her by the sleeve and tug her. She's still taken a little off balance, though.
Goodness, this girl.
And while Akko's goal may be to get Diana to loosen up, that's a tall order. Every room they come to, Diana's mind seems more concerned with working out the trick behind these things than just enjoying the spookiness of them.] I imagine the piano had some sort of inner mechanism, but how do you suppose they did those ghost images? [Please help her turn her brain off.]

[ It's not so much scared as now a bit indignant as she takes her sweet time getting up off of Diana. She's never really been one to rush this part. ]
I sorta expected it, but it still caught me off guard...
[ Then she slowly picks herself up, as if only finally realizing she is seriously inconveniencing her haunted house partner. ]
